I have had Verizon internet for many years. I recently upgraded to 1Gbs internet service and received a new CR1000A router. I own the G3100 router that is relatively new from my last upgrade to 500 Mbs, and I still have the old Quantum Gateway G1100 router too. I only have home internet service with Verizon.Since last Friday (2023-02-03), I have been having problems with my Verizon Fios CR1000A router. The 2.4Ghz wifi band just stops working, all the devices get disconnected and the router stops emitting in that frequency. The 5Ghz band keeps working just fine though. I just renewed my contract with Verizon. I pretty much kept my existing 1gb plan and they threw in a cr100a router for free. My setup is located in my basement (can't be moved), I currently use a mesh network (Deco M9) to connect all my automation devices and to reach my office located on the third floor.Although the 1000A is newer than the 3100, it is really only needed for multi-gigabit service. If Verizon's top available Internet speed is 1 gigabit, then the 3100 is perfect for the subscribed service.
