Unlike a dissertation in an English literature Ph.D. program (which is often a research project that takes 2-3 years), your creative writing thesis is a collection of creative work.Admissions. For applicants to the Creative/Critical Writing concentration, the department requests the following additional materials: 20-25 pages of prose (at least one complete piece and an additional sample preferred), or 10-12 pages of poetry. The writing can be poetry, prose fiction, creative non-fiction or hybrid/cross-genre. Requirements.The creative writing director must approve any exceptions to the requirements, which must be made in writing by Monday, February 7, 2022.
