Nason sealer
Jun 15, 2015 · On the can and tech sheets, the Nason recommends a sealer. My recommendation is to ALWAYS use a sealer especially with Nason; however, I painted the front cover on a late model Corvette without using a sealer using Nason and had near perfect color match and coverage. It was one of the high dollar optional blue metallic colors. The sealer creates a non-porous finish and is usually the first base coat applied to bare steel. Epoxy primer can also be applied over black iron, phosphate coating, fiberglass, and plastic.
