Factorio city block design

Today we do another Factorio base tour of NightStylezz

Place one pole so it's up against the inside edge of a chunk, then place the second pole so it's up against the opposite inside edge of the same chunk. Both poles should be entirely in the same chunk, but touching the edge. SinningForTheWinning • 2 yr. ago. TIL you can make chunks visible with an option. Blocks are big enough for their stations handle 1+1 trains (1 active, 1 waiting) without spillover onto the line. Train limits to 2 (mine was designed pre-vanilla, so I was doing it thru LTN). You can't let idling trains back up into the main lines because a city block design means that train's probably blocking an intersection.By 12-chunk, for every block of my base, It will not receive materials and only output a very complex stuff like the circuits. If you look at the recipes, It will require a lot of space and machines to generate and process resources. I assumed 12 chunk sized block will suffice. I can share the block base blueprint if you want.

Did you know?

Create a "Depot" city block, with a dense array of tracks exiting to two sides of the block. + Easy to deploy. - Bottleneck for train dispatching with only one per few seconds able to path in/out. Scatter depots in unused sections of other blocks. + fewer bottlenecks.Megabase Grid / City Block size. I noticed that most of the standard blueprints and youtube videos involving a Grid or City Block make them 100x100. This is puzzling to me since 96x96 would make it exactly 3 chunks by 3 chunks and still leave a 2-block border outside of the power-pole square. I am certain there is some well-thought …Help with LTN and city block design. First off, I would love to see your city block design for inspiration, LTN or no. I use LTN stations and city blocks - I'll request everything to a single station and unload into a warehouse, I then pull items out of the warehouse onto belts with filter loaders. Set the train limit on the station to 1, and then set the schedule for the train to “iron ore load until full cargo, iron ore unload until empty cargo”. You should always have the exact same number of trains for any given item as you have unload stations for it. It is a complete base made up of blueprints. and you have regular blocks as well, with no machines in it. Perimiter walls, train stations, city blocks, a muliple part buss, diferent smelters and assembly erea's all combinable with the buss. I have a very similar set up. But 192x192 blocks with 2-8 trains, without LTN though.Find blueprints for the video game Factorio. Share your designs. Search the tags for mining, smelting, and advanced production blueprints. Hi, i watched Nilaus explaining the Factorio Engineering series block based train network. and tried to reverse engineer the city block layout as there are currently no blueprints provided. It is a bit hard as no tile grid is ever enabled in this video. Map view.Designed for 1-2 trains and 4 stations (default) per block. Vertical tracks are 4-lane, horizontal tracks are 2-lane with alternating stations on each side. Horizontal is kind of confusing, but essentially the trains snake up and down No idea how efficient this design is, gonna work on setting it up soonmake an absolute grid aligned print of the stone tiles. place 4 copies of this tile print in a 2x2 block layout. place the power poles for the center corner of this 2x2 grid out to the joining roboports. create a 4-way intersection centered on this corner. add decoratives and make the 4-way block print.Factorio Blueprint book with all blueprints from Nilaus's Master Class series. Prod mods (and Speed mods) in my factory are actually a common commodity. I keep a reserve of around 67K Speed modules and 33K Prod Mods in a 1 block prod/speed mod factory, fed by 2 blocks of green, 2 blocks of red and 1 block of purple circuits.City Block base design allows you to trade space for modularity and consistency. As others have said, it allows you to reuse designs, making it much faster to scale up production. While Train-based city blocks are the most common, there are several distinct approaches to city blocks, and hybrids between city blocks and buses also exist. An extra blueprint with the station with enough overlap with the block blueprint that it can be easily and confidently placed makes it pretty straightforward to customize blocks according to how many stations are needed. Also made a BP with two stacked stations - sometimes 4 stations in a block aren't quite enough.City Block base design allows you to trade space for modularity and consistency. Also uses optional waterfill for local water supply. Think of the grid like a spreadsheet - letters along top, numbers along side. B2 - 115spm lab block - 9 of these. B3 - train station that feeds lab block - 6 inputs: iron plates, copper plates, steel plates, coal ore, stone ore, crude oil, 9 of theseNext you gotta figure out your city block design. How big will it be, and will it be square or rectangular. What I did is create an intersection. Four adjacent intersections make a single city block. Adding two more directly adjacent will create another block. As the base becomes big enough, you approach 1 intersection per city block. Each block's side has room for 2 trains in the station and 2 trains in each lane. I know it's a lot of chain signals, but it seemed like the best answer was clearing trains all the way into the stations or straightways since the entries/exits are so close to intersections. Each block can handle up to four platforms of either single or split cargo. An extra blueprint with the station with enough overlap with the block blueprint that it can be easily and confidently placed makes it pretty straightforward to customize blocks according to how many stations are needed. Also made a BP with two stacked stations - sometimes 4 stations in a block aren't quite enough.

May 15, 2023 · How to use. Build a frame with the vertical and horizontal parts, and plop down whatever stations you want on the sides and whatever you want on the inside. …Then rinse and repeat. Your intersections are crucial for train pathing. They must be able to go any direction from any direction for it to work the best. Limiting them to just right and straight will ultimately doom your train pathing. Also using that size you get a 6x6 chunk area inside each grid square to build in.May 15, 2023 · Smelting city block. Hello everyone ! Some of you may already have seen it from the Reddit post made by Nilaus but I wanted to share my recently finished base here also. •I have spent 40 to 50 hours planning the base on paper. This includes Calculating ratios / Create design / Plan the base and the blocks. Here are some details: - LHD grid aligned 9x9 chunks (294x294 tiles & 5x5 Roboports) area with 4 way Celtic knot intersection. - Used different templates for 4,8 and 12 stations. 4 station one have 1 extra train capacity i.e train limit = 2. - Cityblock is for trains and belts only. Robots for only Mall block and train refueling.

Raw resource input to all science @ 1 science/minute output. It would be space inefficient, but highly expandable. Under a current typical system, you have to build 5 or 6 or more peice to expand production of one type of science. My goal is to require only building more blocs. 2.Help with LTN and city block design. First off, I would love to see your city block design for inspiration, LTN or no. Reader Q&A - also see RECOMMENDED ARTICLES & FAQs. Roboports have 50 logistics range, so those work better on a 10. Possible cause: Those would need larger city-blocks in smelting section - ~120 tiles and ~200 ti.

A City Block is the size of 4 Roboports and includes roads, power poles, lights and a big area for building a modular area. I generally have a number of different types of city blocks * Inbound logistics (Trains and storage areas) * Smelting and Processing (more of these are needed with Angels mods and Yuoki Industries)Quad lane is useless once you are familiar with city blocks. The concept is that a quad lane provides more throughput. However throughout is based on intersection. Intersections are heart of city blocks. The best 2 lane intersections are rated around 1:40 trains per min while quad is 60-80.

The Roboports are connected to power sources which are outside of the build range of the adjacent City Block's existing Roboport network. This means that you can't construct the blueprint into empty space. If you stamp it down without existing Roboports, the Roboports in this blueprint will never get power and the design will not complete itself. Jul 13, 2018 · Hi everyone. As my next experiment in Factorio, I've started a "City block" map. For this, I'd need to design a "block" blueprint. As far as I cannot find a perfect blueprint in https://factorioprints.com/ (I mean none that fits my needs / please me), I'm planning to build my own this week-end. About.r/factorio • So yesterday i asked how could i feed 3k water to boil I like city blocks with trains. It's easier to add more trains and more city blocks than it is to try to add more belts to a main bus design. I would start buy deciding on a train size (personally I am running 2L 4C trains), then decide on a city block size that those trains fit in with plenty of room for train stations going either direction (my city blocks are 10*10).A lot of people will explain the "how" of building city block bases, but it's also important to understand the "why". The driving philosophy of city block bases is MODULARITY. In general, each block serves exactly one purpose: produce a singular output from one or more input products. Typically, imports and exports are done by rail.  · Hi everyone. As my next experiment in Fac The biggest counter argument against city blocks is just space inefficiency. Ore Handling / Steam Power. I am now on my fifth version of a pyramid-inspired city block train world.
